Today, we’re going to see how you can throw the cutest Nutcracker Christmas party for your kids, their friends, and maybe YOUR friends & family too! All ages welcome! This Christmas party took us minimal time to plan and set up. WHY? Because when your Nutcracker party supplies are this pretty, they act as your party decor too! The kids had so much fun decorating their cupcakes and Christmas cookies, goofing around with some ballet steps, and having a balloon fight of course 😉

The Nutcracker Christmas is a family holiday tradition that sets the tone for the season! When the music begins, you can close your eyes and allow visions of sugarplums and snowflakes, flowers and a fairyland to enter your imagination. Where To Set Up Your Nutcracker Christmas Party

A kids play table, arts & crafts table, or even a train table would work perfectly to set up a mini party. If the colors don’t work, throw a solid colored linen (or even just a spare white flat sheet!) over it for a casual, comfortable look! We used this kids table from IKEA, which also doubles as a coffee table. The red activity chairs are from Target, but little step-stools would be just fine too. For older kids, your dining table or kitchen island works too! If none of those options are available, use a large roll of Kraft paper and set your “party table” on the floor! Bonus: You can wrap up the paper after the party, and there’s less cleanup to do!

What Party Decorations & Party Supplies TO USE

Keep it simple! The biggest tip here is to incorporate your usual holiday decor around the house. We’ve set up our Nutcracker Christmas party here next to the Christmas tree, with a simple balloon cluster on the other side to balance the decor. Both the “Celebrate” party banner and the balloon cluster (which we tied together with twine) are hung using Command® Adjustables™ Clips, which are repositionable upto 3 times in the first 20 minutes.

The best thing about our premium party supplies is that they double up as party decorations, they’re like jewelry for your tabletop! Add some fresh greenery or florals to add life wherever you can - think fresh pine branches and poinsettia plants.

Easy Holiday Party Food Ideas

Since the holidays bring about endless yummy desserts and cookies, it’s a no-brainer when we’re able to incorporate fun foods that are also healthy! A holiday cheese board works for kids AND adults, stacked fruit trees and delicious dips are all great ideas that don’t take up too much time, and yet balance out all the candy. Add a festive cocktail for the grownups, and everyone is happy!

Christmas Party Games & Christmas Activities

It’s not a party without a Christmas activity! Candy cane slime is a winner with most kids, and the crafts we’ve suggested below are great to reuse year after year as homemade ornaments! If you don’t have the time to prep for craft activities, go with Christmas bingo, Christmas coloring sheets, decorating cupcakes and cookies with sprinkles and fruit!
